Saffron Walden Music Festival
Our first Guildhall School visit is on the 28th November. The wind quintet will work with SCYM wind players throughout the morning, followed by a recital at lunchtime.

Prelude Strings is SCYM’s beginner strings programme.Its for children from year 3 upwards who have just started to play the violin or cello. Children learn how to play in an ensemble using fun and easy repertoire. This group is led and supported by our beginner strings specialist, a cellist and a pianist.
Britten Sinfonia’s Clare Finnimore and Nickie Goldscheider are joining us as tutors at SCYM and will work with students in some of our more advanced chamber groups (grades 6 to 8). Clare is principal viola and Nickie Goldscheider a regular violinist. In addition to weekly coaching, masterclasses for both soloists and ensembles are planned.
