Charity concert in Bishops Stortford on Sunday 22nd May

Orchestral percussion at SCYM

SCYM has invested in a set of orchestral percussion, which Daniella unpacked on Saturday. For now we’re really looking forward to the percussion ensemble branching out. It’ll be invaluable for future SCYM orchestras and the repertoire they can play.  

Scholarships and bursaries

We are offering scholarships worth ¬£400 per annum to players who have reached grade 5 or more on the following instruments: French horn, trombone, tuba, oboe and bassoon. This award is to assist with SCYM fees. Means tested bursaries are also available, and we will accept applications from committed players of all instruments and abilities. […]

Competition news

SCYM pianist Jess Lawson has reached the final round of the EPTA piano competition in London on March 19th. Jess played Bartok, Mendelssohn and Bach. Young cellist Beth Parker won the strings section of the Saffron Walden Music Festival. Congratulations to Beth and Jess!
