SCYM will be holding a series of lunchtime concerts for our musicians to perform to family and friends. Our first concert will be Saturday 18 May, starting at 1230pm, and we have musicians performing on guitar, viola, piano and cello. We are looking forward to their performances.  

Back by popular demand, Gareth Lumbers and Charlie Bates will be hosting a jazz summer course for students grade 4+. Three days, 27-29 August from 930 – 330pm, in the music department of SWCHS. The course will suit both a beginner jazz player through to the advanced.

SCYM is back on Saturday 20 April. We are looking forward to seeing everyone!

Our Jazz Band, Concert Band, Senior Strings and Senior Choirs will be performing in E7 on 23 March. Starting at 1030am. Our prelude strings will be playing in the welcome hall at 12noon. What a great way to end the Spring term. Summer term starts on Saturday 20 April.

Members of SCYM’s Jazz Band will be going on tour to Salzburg, Austria towards the end of August. The band will be touring with Essex Youth Jazz and Essex Youth Orchestra and this tour has been organised by Essex Music Services.

SCYM musicians will be working along side members of Britten Sinfonia on Sunday 21 April in Saffron Hall.  The repertoire is fantastic (from Beethoven, through Gershwin and to a new piece by Dani Howard which includes electronics).
