Welcome to The Saffron Centre for Young Musicians!
We are a specialist Saturday school offering high quality musical training to students aged 5 to 18. The SCYM is a partnership between the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Saffron Hall, Essex Music Education Hub and Saffron Walden County High School. It provides outstanding opportunities for students with a special interest in music from absolute beginner to diploma standard. Children come together every week to play in a wide range of ensembles and choirs, led by professional tutors appointed by the Guildhall and SCYM. Modelled on the highly successful Centre for Young Musicians in London, the SCYM will be held at Saffron Walden County High School. The special partnership that makes up the SCYM gives students access to visiting artists from the Guildhall School and the Saffron Hall.
